Beyond The Return Travel Tips

Ghana’s weather can be very friendly during certain times of the year, very wet at other times and brutal (depending on your home country) at even other times. However, it’s a tropical country and you will never go through an entire week without the beauty of feeling the sun and warmth. As a tropical country, the South Western part is located within the warm wet forest zone similar to the Amazon. Accra, the nation’s capital, is located in the dry equatorial zones. Kumasi, a city located five hours by road and 40 minutes by air from Accra, is in the wet savanna. It lies between 4c and 11c North at the equator and has a coastline of 540km.

The country is bounded on the South by the Atlantic Ocean and on the West by Cote d’Ivoire; on the East by Togo and on the North by Burkina Faso. Should you be interested in visiting multiple countries and time permits, please be sure to check the entry requirements prior to crossing into a border country. If you are visiting from a colder climate, a pair of shorts or light pants will serve you well almost every day of the year unless you are attending business meetings/affairs.
