Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is situated in Kumasi, Ghana. The university has continually retained its dedication to offering top-notch instruction in science, technology, and cutting-edge ideas. With its graduates making a substantial local and global contribution to a variety of subjects, KNUST has emerged as one of Africa’s top research and innovation hubs. The educational facility was founded as Ghana’s first public university.

Agyeman Prempeh I, a ruler of the Ashanti Kingdom, had ambitions to create a university in Kumasi as part of his push to modernize his Ashanti kingdom, which is where KNUST got its start. Due to the conflict between King Prempeh I’s wish to maintain the independence of his Ashanti realm and the development of the British empire, this proposal was never carried out.
