One of Ghana’s top tourist destinations is a rock called the Umbrella Rock, which can be located near the Boti Falls in the Yilo Krobo District. Umbrella Rock, as its name suggests, has an overhang on the summit that can accommodate 12 to 15 people at once.

The natural splendor of Boti Falls draws a large number of visitors each year, and the umbrella rock can be seen during the majority of the journey to the falls.

The rock was found some time ago by a hunter who had gone hunting in the forest, according to Yilo Krobo locals’ oral histories. He then went back to the town, told his people what had happened, and led them to the unusual-looking rock. The Umbrella Rock has since grown to become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Eastern Region.

Visitors are still in awe of the Umbrella Rock because it baffles them how a very large surface rock could balance on a small foundation for so long without falling or the smaller rock wearing away to allow a fall.
